Seniors Programs at Stonegate Community Health Centre provide older adults (55 years and plus) with activities and resources that benefit participants' fitness and overall wellness. Programs offered include:
Young at Heart Wellness Program
provides resources on a variety of health and wellness related topics as well as some gentle physical activities such as Tai Chi. It is offered from 1 pm - 3 pm every Tuesday, starting on January 17, 2012 through Tuesday, March 6, 2012 (for 8 weeks). For registration, contact the centre at (416) 231-7070 ext. 307. Stay Fit For Seniors program, a free 12 week beginner's fitness program for older adults (55 years of age and older) offered in partnership with ESS Support Service, will help participants increase their fitness levels by providing safe and enjoyable training and information about health, wellness and nutrition. The program is offered from 10 – 11 am every Saturday, starting on January 28, 2012 until April 21, 2012. For registration, contact the centre at (416) 231-7070 ext. 307.
Stonegate Plus Club provides English speaking seniors the chance to meet and spend time together. Activities include bus trips, bingo and card games. It runs every Friday from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Senior’s Club 2000 provides local Polish speaking seniors with the opportunity to socialize and engage in fun activities in their native language. Activities include gentle exercise, bus trips, and bingo.
