Downsview Services


Downsview Services for Seniors provides older adults and individuals living with disabilities with quality services to support and foster independent living. It works as a good resource of social activities, transportation, meal delivery and home support.
 
For adults over 55, Healthier Living Centre is a place to meet new friends and participate in activities including seminars, fitness programs, and computer lessons. Programs and activities are offered free of charge (except for trips/outings) at various hours Monday to Friday and locations in North York. Please contact Meghan at (416) 398 - 0258 ext. 310. Other special programs include:
 
Home at Last & Doorways to Care  is a service funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term care.  This service is offered free of charge to eligible patients being released from participating hospitals, i.e. Humber River Regional Hospital, North York General Hospital and St. John's Rehab Hospital, to help them get settled at home smoothly. Branson Place Dementia Day is a program for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. Participants and their caregivers can take advantage of the meaningful and appropriate social therapeutic activities. For time and fee schedules, please contact Lori at (416) 398 - 0258 ext. 510. Boost Day Program is for individuals living with stroke or other neurological issue, or who are frail. In the program, participants are involved in social interactions and therapeutic activities, and caregivers are provided with respite from their daily duties and related information and other resources.
