Princess Margaret Cancer Centre

The Psychosocial Oncology Program provides support, guidance and psychological assistance to patients and their families through all phases of cancer. The multidisciplinary Psychosocial Oncology team includes professionals from social work, psychiatry, psychology, psychosocial research and palliative care, with close links to pastoral services, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, oncology nursing and volunteer resources. Services offered include psychiatry and psychology to help patients and their family learn how to cope with the emotional distress of a cancer diagnosis and treatment, social work to assist with emotional, financial, and practical matters, and specially trained volunteers who work directly with cancer patients and their supporters by sharing resources they are knowledgeable on and providing social support.
