South East Regional Cancer Program

Symptoms describe how a person is feeling. They can be physical complaints or treatment side effects, such as pain or nausea. They can also be emotional or spiritual changes, such as anxiety or depression. Other concerns come from the day-to-day impact of cancer on overall wellbeing. The team addresses these issues and makes appropriate referrals to services such as palliative care which focuses on relieving symptoms and other concerns identified by patients and their families, or to social workers who help with emotional, financial, or practical (day-to-day) concerns.
